Mission Statement

*Love God. Love Others.

 

            Love God, love others; It’s that simple and yet that complex.

            Jesus was questioned by an expert about the greatest commandment in the Law.  His response was this: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. (Matthew 22:37-39)

            He was asked for one answer, but he gave two.  The reason is simple: Because the two are inseparable.  Loving God and loving others go hand in hand.

           We believe that it is important to follow the lead of Jesus and focus on these two commands as we seek to love God and others - it is paramount to our faith.  Through doing this, we will be brought into closer communion and fellowship with God and with one another while following the commands of our Lord and Savior.  Our doctrine and beliefs; our behavior and thoughts; our internal and our external motivation should all flow out of our desire to see this command fulfilled in our lives and communities. 

           We desire to proclaim Jesus Christ as the Son of God and stand on the truth of His Word.  We want to allow Jesus to build his church upon our love for the Father and love for others and, in this way, to allow heaven to invade earth in our sphere of influence.  We can demonstrate this by loving God and loving others.  It really is that simple - it really is inseparable!
